im new! Jan. 3rd, 2008 @ 10:44 am
hey everyone! like some others i notice that this community isnt that active, but thats ok ill do my part and post an entry.

my name is allison and im a freshman at Augustana College in Rock Island, IL.  i only ran track the last 3 years of high school but it was enough for me to become interested and talented.  i had to work my butt off to have any talent at running.  but by senior year i was pretty darn good id say.  i picked augustana college because its a small D3 school, and so i fit in with the team and the competition...i am far far far from D1 talent. im a sprinter and a hurdler; i run both hurdle races, 400s and 200s.  i also enjoy running cross-country.  running in college was one of the best choices i think i have ever made, it is so much fun!!!!!!!!!

i'm new to the group, and i just wanted to give you all a little back story on my history with track and field.i've been running track on and off since 5th grade. i got into after watching the 96' olympics in atlanta and michael johnson's double. ever since then, i've been hooked. i've been a sprinter for as long as i've been running, even coming into a michael johnson type running form(which i know isn't good, but i'm comfortable with) looking back on my high school career, i feel i've wasted these four years being scared. confidence, on and off the track, has always been a problem for me. i've always been scared of other sprinters, either by their bodies(i'm a skinny guy) or their track record or form or whatever.) plus, being the kid always picked on in school hasn't helped too. so my skin isn't thick at all to criticism. now i'm here about to start college and am planning to run in college in the 200m. and am wondering if there's any advice on this confidence issue track-wise? any advice is welcomed.

Hi everyone!

I know this community isn't the most active one out there but I just joined and thought that I'd say hellO!

My name is Gabi, I'm 20 years old and I've been running track for about 11 years now. I'm a junior in college. I went to Beloit College and ran there for 2 years (its a D3 school) and now i'm transferring to University of Wisconsin-Whitewater and running there! Its going to be very odd running against my former teammates at a few meets. I sprint, and thats about it. 100,200,55,400, 4x1,4x2,4x4 and the sprint med... thats all me ^__^.
